Remarketing process at AfB

AfB staff equipped with company cars pick up retired IT hardware directly at the workplace. Great emphasis is placed on the security of personal data: hardware is transported in lockable containers, our buildings are guarded by cameras and access to them is strictly controlled.

The picked-up hardware is then transported to the nearest AfB location, where inventory and storage takes place in a strictly secured warehouses. As a premium service, AfB allows its partners to track discarded hardware, starting with its inventory. From that moment on, it is possible to follow the progress of the entire process online after logging in to our website.

The moment the hardware is entered into the inventory, its further destination needs to be determined (e.g. recycling or re-marketing). Afterwards, the hardware details are recorded (e.g. manufacturer, model, serial number, product number) and all customer labels are removed. All data will be saved to the Inventory Management System and linked to a uniquely identifiable Log ID.

We provide certified data erasure using special Blancco software and subsequent testing of individual devices.

Functional equipment will then undergo a professional cleaning process and, if necessary, will be repaired.
