AfB wins the German Sustainability Award 2024
14.11.2023
The decision was made by 140 jurors: AfB is this year's leader in Consumer Goods Renovation.
AfB wins in the Repair Services sector
The German Sustainability Award was presented this year for "role models for sustainable transformation in Germany". In 2024, AfB was the winner in the Used Hardware Refurbishment category. AfB was up against two other companies in the "Resources" category, in the "Raw Materials and Recycling" category and in the "Repair Services" category.
The jury's reasoning
AfB gemeinnützige GmbH, like the other winners of the competition, reached the final because it has made a particularly effective and exemplary contribution to sustainability, setting an example and sending the right signals to its sector of work and beyond.
This highlights AfB's safe and resource-saving remarketing of used computers, smartphones and other IT equipment. This is the third time AfB has won the German Sustainability Award, the first time in 2012, when it was awarded in the "Most Sustainable Future Strategy" category; the second award awaited AfB in 2020, where it won in the "Society + Justice" category.
Award ceremony
The official award ceremony will take place on 23 November 2023. AfB, as one of the 100 companies, will receive the award in the presence of Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius, CNN presenter Christiane Amanpour and other well-known personalities.
We are very happy about the award of our colleagues in Germany and wish them many more successes.
PS: Don't forget that you can find the refurbished equipment of the social enterprise AfB Slovakia in our shop.
