By refurbishment of IT technology, we save natural resources: AfB results for 2023

Nowadays, environmental and sustainability issues are crucial. One of the most effective and reasonable ways is to use refurbished IT technology. This method of minimizing the "ecological footprint" was chosen by the AfB company, it became part of our philosophy and the essence of our daily activities.

What have we achieved at AfB Group?

During the past year, AfB Group processed and refurbished an incredible 666,000 devices from more than 1,000 partners. We are proud of the fact that our efforts in the field of refurbishing IT equipment have enabled us to employ 660 people in 20 branches and in 5 countries, of which 48% are disabled. This policy is important not only to our values of inclusion, but also to our ability to succeed.

But the numbers also speak clearly. Refurbishment of used IT technology has brought remarkable results in the area of conservation of natural resources. In 2023, AfB Group saved 480 million liters of water and 252,300 MWh of primary energy. This is not just a number on paper, but a concrete contribution to the protection of important resources for life.

We also have to talk about CO₂ emissions. By refurbishment of IT technology, we have saved 66,000 tons of CO₂ equivalents of greenhouse gas emissions in 2023. Even this small contribution to climate change is undoubtedly important, because every ton of CO₂ we can eliminate is a step towards a more sustainable future.

AfB Slovakia in 2023

AfB Slovakia also recorded amazing results. We are proud to have processed nearly 5,700 devices from over 10 partners. 71% of our employees have a health disability, which demonstrates our commitment to inclusion.

At AfB Slovakia, we also saved 4 million liters of water, 2,400 MWh of primary energy and 630 tons of CO₂ equivalents of greenhouse gas emissions. These achievements testify not only to our promise to contribute to environmental protection, but also to our ability to engage in inclusive practices while achieving results.

The results we achieved at AfB Group and AfB Slovakia show that by refurbishing IT technology, we not only save natural resources, but also change the world for the better. It is our duty to continue this effort and inspire others to work together to achieve a more sustainable future for all.
